Unhappy Factory fit budget tyres

Picked-up my new X1 Sport last week and so far, I'm really pleased with it.

However, I was not so pleased to discover the factory have fitted Nexen N-Fera Sport tyres, which seem to be a budget range and worse, gets mediocre reviews.

My last BMW had factory fitted Michelin Primacy 3 - a brand I stuck with throughout the time I kept the car (four years).

Has anyone else had a brand new BMW with factory supplied inferior tyres? Do I have any chance of insisting on something better being fitted from BMW and/or the dealer?

I'd not heard of them, but saw they are also going on the Porsche Cayenne. Looks like they're okay but seems like a bit of a cost cutting measure.

It seems to be a complete lottery what you get fitted, there are about 5 different tyre manufactures that are used on the X1 with little to no view of why one rather than another.

Agreed. It doesn't even seem like there is consistency at to tire size, or with Base / xLine / or MSport. It's like whatever the assembly line worker grabbed on that particular day is what you get.

Ah, interesting, so I don't have a leg to stand on then! Funny how at the back of the X1 brochure, where they list several tyres, they are all premium brands...
