not ordering seat heaters because lack of use, will car be harder to sell in future?
I decide not to the ordering of the seat heaters because lack of use, as in never used. Each and all cars I bought in last few years only have seat heater because I have no choice due to being included inside packages. I really hate having my behind warm while driving, even if it's wintry cold.
since BMW in the US offers seat heaters as a separate option $550, I decide not to order it. why I want to pay $550 for something that I know I never use, yes? It's like what Deutsche Bahn did with their seats not too long ago and I hated paying for extra that I didn't have any use for. however, having said that, it just occurred to me this question.... will car be harder to sell in future? do used car buyers(private or dealer) skip cars without seat heaters? |

There will always be some people that have 'essential' items that they want. Put let's be honest most options in cars you don't generally get the money back when you come to sell it. So not adding them I doubt will make much difference when you come to trade it in.
Buy it for what you want and your budget personally. We have gone for a car with a HUD as the wife loves it on here current car and she sees it as essential now, every other car option that didn't have it was rolled out. Some might think that crazy but it's not to her. Leave it out and pocket the money for something nice. |

Depending where you live it can be purchased through subscription. All vehicles have the seat heaters installed

I dont get the logic to skimp on a ‘essential’ feature for some.. its like $550 + tax and if you amortize it over the years of ownership its like $100 (more or less) per year..

Agreed. I live in Hawaii, I’d rather have the option of ventilated seats than anything else.
