Buying new m4 help with car prep
I plan on getting front end ppf and coating
Should I let the dealer do their normal car prep. I think they wash and polish it Also which paint coating is most recommended? I've used carpro 5 years ago. What is the latest and greatest for diyer? |

It’s best to take the car str8 from factory to your local ppf/ceramic person. They will have a bit less work on the paint correction this way. |

When I order a car, I generally ask them to not polish it. They're going to wash it, it's going to be filthy from the traveling and they likely need to do that just to check for damage. But a bad polish can really hurt the paint.

If you have a great detailer that you trust, you can literally tell them to leave all of the transportation plastic on, remove the transport blocks ans have it send to your detailer via flatbed. If you are not that picky, just have them prep it, and have your detailer do everything else.
YMMV, or just drive the car and don’t spend all that money…..! |

I'd have the dealer not touch the car at all.

+1. The less the car is touched before your chosen detailer gets it, the less paint correction they'll have to do. Your detail shop will do paint correction prior to applying ceramic coating and/or PPF; they'll just have fewer screw-ups to correct.

If you do your own Ceramic (as I do) Cquartz UK 3.0 is very good. Double coat it. I used the UK 2.0 before and it's been nice. I just ordered 3.0 for the incoming m4
