LED Headlights Faulty?

Hi all,

I recently placed an order for a new X1 M Sport 23d.

On researching the adaptive LED headlights I came across the below video.

Have any of you current u11 owners experienced the same?

Seems that there is no adaptive headlight available in US market.

No problem, i think the car in the video is Swedish.

Can anyone with a European x1 confirm that the lights are better than the ones shown in the video?

I have a '20 x3mc with adaptive LED's and they are WAY better than what's shown in this video. That said would it be obvious in a video vs in person?

He has posted a followup video. They believe it’s a software issue, but not one that can be addressed through an over-the-air update. He’s booked in for a software update at the local dealer. The updates aren’t specific so I think this is a bit of a guess, but since others have lights that work, hopefully its resolvable.

Hopefully it will get resolved, myself coming from a G20 3 series with excellent light to an X1 with inferior lights would be an issue, hopefully this is just an isolated incident.

We get the European models down here, and, I can confirm that the adaptive LEDs on my car and far better than what is shown in the video. They work as they should by shadowing out oncoming traffic and cars you drive up behind. They work just like the adaptive in my other BMWs. They would be better if they had the laser option like I have on one of my other Beemers, but, they are very effective nonetheless.

I am a F48 owner and ordered the ix1 with adaptive led headlight.

My F48 has the normal LED headlight which disappointed me alot. The intensity is low, range is short, spread angle is narrow and the cutoff is blur. The inner "bulb" is a fake plastic shell.
I started the watch headlights with different brands of car and found that BMW has the weakest headlights.
Then I modified my headlights to a pair of morimoto MLED 2.0 projectors to solve the problem.

I am looking forward to seeing my new car's headlight, hoping they will improve a bit.
