what jack pad is needed?

New to BMW, I see many jack pad adapters available with a rectangular top to work with BMWs. I haven't found one on Amazon that lists the G80. Is there a certain size needed?

Guess this will apply to Jack stand adapters as well.

Thanks

I have used an adapter before on my G80, but they made me a little uneasy as the pad was smooth with no traction. I stopped using those and now solely use a Schwaben jack (flat rubber jack pad) and ESCO jack stands (some of the only ones on the market with flat rubber pads). A set of these jack stands and the Schwaben jack will be all you need.

I was looking at either the ESCO jackstands or Bestool jackstands, both are the same design. So having the BMW adaptors for the jackstands aren't a must item? Thanks

The adapters are most definitely not required. I have used only my jack pad and the pad on my ESCO stands quite a bit, and the BMW mounts are still in great condition. I prefer this way, as the BMW mounts grip the pads really well.

No specific size needed - same universal size as all BMWs.

How do the rubber pads on the ESCOs hold up? I just got a set of the harbor freight/Daytona ones (ESCO replica) and they seem to deform under pressure

You're supposed to use a jack pad that everyone above is suggesting, as for your new stands i'd get a replacement asap, that looks faulty.

I’d say the pads on my ESCO stands look similar to that. Some cuts here and there. But they don’t compress like yours. I’m guessing the ESCO pads are maybe a stiffer rubber?

And I didn’t know there were replica ESCOs, nice! I might pick up a set.

This is the exact setup I use.

I do use the jack pad adapter from bms if I just have to jack up one side for some reason, otherwise I use the center jack point and then the esco jack pads.

I use the BMS adapters also on all 4 jack points and my Quickjack BL-6000 XLT lift. If I'm under the car then ESCO jack stands.
