So in my previous G and F generation cars in Europe, the Service History menu gave you an actual service history for the car. This included dates, mileage and I think even a short description of what was done.

I noticed when looking at cars here, the menu option is greyed out.
Is this a North America anomaly?
Anybody know?

I think the service history has to be written to the vehicle with ISTA or other dealer software when work is performed for that to show up. I'm guessing they just don't bother as all of that data is in AIR for any dealer anyway. The iDrive service history would only be for you.

That actually makes sense.

My BMW would only have been to BMW Main Service Dealers so I guess this is something to be expected from them but not from other dealers or garages/shops.

Here's a good article about it. It appears the vehicle "should" be able to sync the history from ConnectedDrive as well but I verified mine was set to Active using BimmerCode and my vehicle shows no data same as yours.
