BimmerCode updates for LCI

I’ve not done any coding on this car yet, so am curious to know what people have coded to their cars via the BimmerCode app?

The first thing I’ll be turning off is stop start. Most other stuff that I’ve done on previous cars can be done in the iDrive menu.

Auto start stop, seatbelt bong and ASD are the main ones for me.

Wait, there's a button that turns auto stop/start off right under the ignition. Why do you need to code it off?

I just did my Bimmercode stuff to my '23 last week:

Seatbelt warning off
Start screen —> M start screen
Chimes off
ASD off
Heated steering wheel and seats temps turned up

About it for now

How come the only thing I can actually see on bimmercode is the asd I can’t seem to find the seat belt gong or start screen settings. Is there a guide somewhere on how to do this? Thanks!

Those warning options and start screen options are under the "Head Unit" section.

Here's everything you can code on F90/G30:

https://bimmercode.app/cars/g30/

And here is the manual:

https://bimmercode.app/manual/

You forget how nice is to not have those warnings until you get into another car!

I did all of these as well, in addition to a few more. But these are the things that annoyed me the most.

Got that out of there right away as well, though I do triple check my fob without, even though I have enabled walk away locking that thankfully works even when the car is on.

Also no warnings, no seatbelt chimes, all the enhanced tailgate functionality from interior button and remote with no warning sounds, and interior LEDs red (which I can't figure out for the life of me why that isn't an option directly from BMW). Just any one of those would have been worth the dongle and full version of BimmerCode if you ask me.

I wear my seatbelt all the time, but I don't need to be reminded to do so when I am moving my car two feet in my garage.

Finally got everything done with the help of this thread. Two questions though - what is the enhanced tailgate functionality? What does that do?

Also is it just me or does disabling the ASD make the cabin noisier in a bad way in comfort mode? I think it sounds great when driving spirited but in comfort I feel like it adds a little drone? Or am I mistaken?

Great to hear!

IIRC, the tailgate can only be opened (and not closed) from the interior tailgate switch (by pushing it); you can change it to do both (by pulling it instead). Same for the keyless remote; I can now both open and close it from the remote. I've also minimized the the time it takes to close after sending the close command from either the switch or the remote. I've also removed the warning chimes when closing the tailgate.

I have not personally experienced the cabin being noisier or having added drone, but that could come down to each of our ears hearing things a bit differently.

Super cool I'll look into doing that also and yeah I figured it might just be that

Worth noting, disabling the warning chime also disables it when opening and closing the tailgate with the foot operated sensor. It helps me feel less silly using it.

That's interesting...I don't have bimmercode but I can open and close my trunk from the interior switch. And I can open and close the trunk through the key remote.

Edit: I cannot close the trunk through the key remote, it only opens it.

That is quite interesting. I have also seen other members mention they have that functionality from the factory, but I never did in either of my F90s. I was told by my SA that it's a safety feature to not be able to close (not that that means anything).

Perhaps different software?

It's a small thing, but it irritates me that the I can't get bimmercode to make the one touch turn signal to 5 times instead of 3. Anybody find a way to get this to work?

This hasn't been available in modern BMWs since like 2016 or something like that. Some models of F15 X5 it worked then stopped working and hasn't worked on any newer models. But they keep including it in the coding of BimmerCode.
