Anybody else not getting any software updates?

Just started reading up here a bit more since we just got a 20 X540i to replace our old F30 328i.

Wondering if it's normal to be on really old software? I noticed that i'm still on 11/2019.55.

I downloaded the myBMW app, no updates, tried the iDrive, no updates and called into BMW ConnectedDrive and they're saying i'm all up to date but it seems like everyone is on at least 2021 software.

I'm in Canada so maybe that's part of the problem too...

I haven't received any updates since I picked up MY2021 X6MC. I suspect that is because I had the car coded and I was told that because I wanted the anti-dazzle programmed they had to "trick" the car into believing it was a European model....??? Dunno if that's true, buy maybe your car was coded in the past?

I'm still on 07/2021. I've requested an upgrade while in my vehicle is in for annual maintenance in Dec citing the SIB for RSU and other vehicle performance issues

I haven't had any OTA updates, ever. I am convinced because I've coded certain things on my car that it blocks the over the air update.

Not a big deal to get the dealer to update every year or so. Just say you are having connectivity issues with either CarPlay or Android Auto.

I know they switched to iDrive8 but my 2023 X5 45e, which I have only had for 2 weeks, has iDrive7. I hope my fresh off the assembly line car is not already unsupported with over the air updates.

100% agreed. Unfortunately they have not done an OTA since 2021

Did the updates return the coded parts to original coded?

yes. most (if not all) of my codes were wiped as a result of the updates. this is a 'normal' occurrence and to be expected after updating.

Coding has no effect on whether or not you receive an OTA. They have not released a mass OTA in almost a year but will be doing so over the next month or so.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that we can pretty much say good bye to any more OTA updates unless it fixes a safety recall or some other issue that will put BMW in a legal jam.

They are currently rolling out the update to iD8 vehicles and then the update for iD7 should start "shortly". Looks like the only item for iD7 is some improvement to Lane Keeping. I have the update but have not notice anything different but usually am using cruise with steering so wouldn't. I would guess there will not be any features being added in the future, just fixes and tweaks.

Go to Car -> Settings -> General Settings -> Remote Software Upgrade and it will show what version you have.

I my case, it's coding to support retrofitting parts/features that were not delivered with the car from the factory. Trailer hitch, Crystal Clarity, and ACC (SA 5DF). When the car reports a discrepancy in 'features' that the BMW original build database (server side), the OTA updates are deactivated to prevent issues.

Unlikely that is happening.
