Retro fit Adaptive Cruise Control
Any one know if it's possible to retro fit adaptive cruise control on a 2022 1series?
Have the radar for AEB, is it as easy as replacing the steering wheel to have the controls and some coding? Or is there more to it than that? |

I think you're missing some sensors in the radar for AEB. And I also think it's quite an expensive retrofit.

Any updates on this as I'm also interested.
I can buy the switch for the steering wheel and swap it out, but what's different about the radar if the car has lane assist and emergency braking? |

The lane assist and the emergency braking function doesn't use that radar, so if the car doesn't have ACC than the front radar is missing from the little black rectangle on the lower part of the bumper. So you have to buy that radar too and also make a custom wiring harness for it.

I have the close range radar for parking assist.
Is it a case of swapping out for the long range? Is it plug and play, or do I need a customer harness. I’m hoping the harness is compatible so it’s a matter of swapping, steering wheel controls and coding. |

So unfortunately they are not plug and play because if you don't have the ACC radar then your car doesn't have the wiring for it and needs a custom wiring harness made for it. |
