Camera malfunction

So, this evening I took an hour drive, and my camera systems (reverse, forward, and 360) all worked fine. Got back in the car 3 hours later to head home, went to back out, and just a black screen with a camera malfunction error message. Backup cam wouldn’t work, nor would any of the others.

Drove an hour, didn’t fix itself. Had some dinner, hopped back in the car, put it in reverse, split second of blank screen and then all systems started working fine again.

G80 is just over 4 months old. Garaged. And very low mileage. Anyone else have this happen? Certainly doesn’t inspire long-term confidence in the build quality or reliability.

This happens on my drivers mirror camera all the time. On and off. Only that one. I get a code I can read about it, but since it comes and goes, and I really dont want to be down a car, I ignore it.

Thanks! So it's not just me...

Not sure what's faulting on mine, since it takes the whole system down and I get nothing but blank screen... but then it seems to take a nap, and fix itself.

I'm in the same boat...once it happens basically all the time, I'll bite the bullet and take it in (or mention it when I'm in for service anyway). Something tells me once they diagnose it, there's probably a wait on the relevant parts these days anyway?? And I'm not eager to have anything invasively re-wired either, if that would be necessary...

Any updates? Just got this on my g80 for my back up camera and i’d rather use that than do what i’m currently doing and going old school, one arm on the passenger seat one arm at 12 o clock
