How many CS actually trading hand over $100k

I see these high asking prices posted and am curious what they are actually selling for. How many of you have personally sold or bought a CS for over $100k? I know people don't like talking about their money, but would love some insight!

Most of us on here bought new. A few of the early guys got discounts, most of us paid MSRP and a few later buyers paid a small markup.

I believe a handful here have sold already their CS in the low/mid $90s.

The used market is certainly contributing to the appreciation. I haven't seen anyone admit that they paid over $100K for theirs, but surely they are out there.

I paid $100k... I was late to the party though. Late summer, early fall they were all in the mid $90's with miles on them. Once I wrapped my head around the price tag it was finding the "right" car. Mine had only 46 miles on it and was an EAG car so I was prepared to pay slightly more. Eric was very fair and gave me exactly MSRP $61k for my M2C on trade.

The car look to be advertised about $10k more now. I think many are selling from $95k to $105K.

I believe Paul Zuckerman just paid $110k for his.

If you were fortunate to pay MSRP, it looks to be a real bargain for these cars.

Do you have to pay stamp duty on 2nd hand car purchases in the US? We do in Australia. It adds a fair whack to the price too. There's only one for sale at the moment here at 174k. Stamp duty on that is about 8k. So that's a total of 182k or USD133k. So much bloody tax in this country.

This is exactly what I'm thinking…. I almost pulled the trigger on a nearly new CS but just couldn't do it at $100k. To each their own, no judgment by any means for the people that do. It's a great car and when it's all said and done, with resale and such, maybe cheaper than my M2C. If timing worked out I would have bought a CS new. Over $100k I'll likely go with a Pcar, though I sure wish Lotus would open a dealer in Phoenix.

Not very familiar with stamp duty. In the US it depends on the state you register/buy if you have to pay any taxes on a used car from an individual. Used from a dealer, we must pay taxes. In CA of course they want any and all taxes for anything. Buying a car from in a private sell in AZ for example would pay no taxes.

I recently bought mine off a private seller for just over $100k with 600 miles. It already has PPF and ceramic coating.

Other Pcars I’m interested in are selling well above that, and I need the usable back seat for my kiddos in booster seats.

If I had the foresight to have bought it new, after taxes and other fees, PPF and ceramic coating, I would be close to what I paid for.

This car is amazing and I’m ecstatic to own one!

I got it at MSRP, but also had extended warranty, so it was still about $104k new.

Have been in the market for an M2 CS for a few months so can provide some insight to the advertised pricing vs reality of what I've had sellers willing to accept/what I've seen them actually go for. If the seller is somewhat motivated with decent mileage(<10k) I've seen them going for around the $95k - $100k mark recently. If we're talking minimal (ie break-in) mileage imagine the figure might fall at the higher end of that range. Otherwise from my perspective the market has been more or less static for anything much above $100k though there are always outliers - Zuckerman allegedly buying a mint one for 'over $110k.'

I think the CCB's should make a big difference in price. $100k for one of these doesn't seem too bad a deal.

This seems to check out.

I paid 500 under MSRP a year ago new. If you factor in PPF, ceramic, taxes and registration (just got dinged another 1k this month for this years registration), I am at a bit over 100 into the car.

The CS buyer market is already small. The market of buyers willing to pay a significant increase for CCBs secondhand is even smaller. However, if you're patient, the right buyer will be willing to pay that $110K+ number for a very low mile spec with CCB.

I can confirm a MB, steel brakes, 6 sp, with under 1000 miles just sold for $105K in the Florida area. It was a buddy of mine who reached out to a local dealer and they had a buyer ready for it at that price.

I would say most cars under 5K miles and single owner are going for right around $100-$105K realistically with steel brakes.

I bought mine new in January 2021 for $85K including taxes and fees. This was about $2500 under MSRP including my BMW CCA rebate and dealer incentive on remaining 2020 cars of $1500. I have been offered just under $100K as recently as January with 2800 miles, HS, manual, steel brakes. I wouldn't consider selling under $105K.

I think smart buyers are realizing CCB are a large part of the appeal of the CS. It is the only M2 with that option. It drops weight. It keeps the wheels looking mint. It is the ultimate spec of the ultimate modern M.

I bet the CCB continue to command a premium.

Agreed - I wouldn't consider less than $105k for it.

MB - Manual - Gold Wheels - Steel Brakes - Cup 2's - PPF - 100% stock, unmodified, unless we consider window tint a modification lol.

If the F&I criminal did this to me and I didn't discover it until I got home, I would drive right back down to that establishment at warp speed, and this would be me walking back into his office:

I would demand an IMMEDIATE refund, and I would ask very politely at first, and if I got ANY pushback, I'd lose it and go full postal.
