Higher performance than OE, they come in colors and they are competitively priced. What's not to like? They're on my list for my next spark plug change at 60K mi.

Just ordered a set! Was about to pull the trigger on some Bavarian branded ones until I saw these. Can't wait to install along with some new NGKs.

Graph in the post above shows output/performance vs a stock B58 Eldor coil. As far as lasting longer— that really depends on usage but should be the same or better given the same running conditions. Dinan and sister company APR have been using these coils (or like ones in the case of the VAG platforms) on all of our vehicles for a year or more without issues though

The question you should be asking is exactly how any "perdormance coil" can increase the operational life or the quality of a spark coming off a plug.

If you are having misfires or running rough in general then replacing the coils would assist in rectifying the issue. Same as with OEM coils. The Dinan coils offer more output energy which would assist in higher output builds where the OEM coils may have some issues but generally speaking the advantage is in price and customization (colors).
As far as compatibility... it depends on generation of X5M. E70/F85 - Technically compatible but may require modification (removal of a molding rib). Investigation into viability of a running change to remove this rib for future production is underway. F95 - Not compatible. Newest gen N63TU3/S63TU4 (X5M/X6M specifically) coils being investigated. |

Have a coil/plug service that I will be doing shortly on my 340xi with 82k on it (plugs were replaced at 55k according to records). Figure that this is the time for new coils, question though, what plugs do you recommend with you coils?

Got these into my 2016 340i xdrive when I was doing my coils and plugs at 60k. I drive my car pretty hard, plus I have Dinan stage 1 tune. So far 3000 miles on it, drives well, no complaint, 100 bucks cheaper than the oem coils I returned. Definitely recommend it, I bought the red ones, looks real good.

LOL perhaps this was intentional in order to make the new red dinan coils look better?
