MSS vs. H&R springs
Just picked-up a 2021 X5M and it is amazing, but the ride height is a bit high and, I'll be honest, lowering it will help with my wife and kids getting in/out as it is our primary DD and family mobile.
I see lots of posts about the MMS height adjustable kit but not much about (for example) the fixed-height H&R springs that drop the height 1.4". That amount of drop is about what I'm looking for, so I'm hoping someone can help me understand that value in paying 2 or 3 times the price for the the MMS kit vs. just getting H&R. Is there anything about the MMS kit that would result in a better ride assuming an equivalent drop of 1.4"? I would plan on keeping the stock "rake" the same, so an equal drop F&R is fine with me. Thanks!

although I can't comment personally, my understanding is that the MMS soften the ride in addition to adjustable ride height. the H&R are just lowering the height and should ride with the same firmness as the stock springs do. if you and your family don't mind the ride quality, and don't have intentions of playing with ride height, save the money and do the H&R. if you want a more customized drop and softer ride, pony up for the MMS. lot of guys here have them and are happy. not as many with H&R, likely due to ride quality.
I have 3 kids and I have been considering dropping for some time. but the cost of the MMS is turning me off when I personally like the stock ride quality. likely going with H&R or keeping it stock |

I have tested both.
H&R is good enough if you are on a budget. Ride is ok, a bit bouncy, especially on the rear. MSS wise, ride is good, better than stock and doesn't bounce. I sells both and I tested both and I've installed both. I hope that help.
