How to clear Catless DP CEL on '18 340i with JB4?
I've search and searched and find nothing but 5+ year old posts about auto-delete, pulling ground from battery, etc but I have had no luck clearing the CEL.
When in the JB4 app, when I hit Delete Codes it tells me I need to be in Diagnostic Mode which requires hitting the Start Engine buttom 3x quickly with no food on the brake. That doesn't work. I've tried steering wheel controls for Speedo 1 and Tach 2 and that doesn't work. I've pulled the ground from the battery for over a minute and that doesnt either. Can anyone suggest how to clear the catless dp detected CEL Im getting? |

Your best bet is to post on n54tech. I remember this issue and if I'm not mistaken there was a JB4 update that helped clear the fault code, but it may have also been with a MHD back end flash.

JB4 no longer removes the CEL from a downpipe. You'll have to buy an O2 spacer, which might work. Or switch to a quality catted downpipe, that guarantees no CEL. Or buy an MHD, BM3 or MG tune.

No way to "clear" it without hardware or some other sensor mod. If your looking to pass emissions, I have a post about using a mini-cat on the O2 sensor.

the jb4 no longer hides CEL lights caused by the downpipes
i recommend you get a catted downpipe that does not throw a check engine light

I wouldn't do this. From what I've read, the o2 sensor is used in calculations for the ECU, so don't have the value be a lie or wrong by using a spacer. IF you buy a catless or high flow DP, just deal with cell or flash bm3/mhd. |

I ended up buying a $20 code reader that deletes codes. So far it has not come back on since. I will eventually go to a flash tune, but I already owned the JB4 from a previous car, so I am using it for the time being.
Thanks all. |
