How many miles on your M2?
Tried searching but didn’t find a thread like this. Saw it for the CS cars but I’m genuinely curious to hear how many miles you have on your M2?

I have almost 18,000 miles on my 2020. Super fun car, but it is starting to become rather "normal" to me after almost 2 years. Might be time for something new soon. I do tend to go through cars pretty often. …and I don't have a problem grouping all M2 variants together. They are all awesome. |

@smknjoe I threw in my car a while back. I hope they didn't get bothered by that.
I'm at 47k miles (2017). I've seen one or two cars on autotrader recently near the 80k mark. One of them was a manual as well oddly enough. A quality tune is always a fun way to spark things up with the car again. Once I went FBO & got forged Apex's (18") it made a huge difference. I wish the car came like this from the factory. It's just about perfect & a massive step up from stock. Other then maybe a pure turbo for a 500 whp/wtq map on a ethanol blend & maybe an engine brace/swaybar & its good to go for a few more years.

About 5k miles, in 3.5 months. Gonna pare that down to about 12k/yr rate.

I am six days into ownership and have over 600 miles so far. I expect to add another 600 by the time I return home on Sunday.
Unfortunately, I have found Apple CarPlay to be very glitchy, spontaneously turning off. And I have yet to really figure out the M1 and M2 settings. I also find the gear shift position to be cramped at times and I am just an average-sized person (perhaps with slightly longer arms). But overall, it’s a great little car. |

How to program them? Or what to set them at? Most set M1 to a sporty or daily preference and M2 to a more aggressive or track setting.
You can use iDrive to set them or the console buttons and simply hold down M1 or M2 until the beep to memorize the current settings. IE press the throttle button to sport mode, steering to sport +, and DCT to sequential and #3 shift speed (if so equipped), press & hold M1 until the beep to program. Next time you start the car, briefly press M1 to activate these settings. Press M1 again to restore defaults.

I have a mere 12k miles in over 2 years. Its a 2020 that I actually picked up April 2019. I work remote so its mostly just weekend errands, an occasional mountain drive, and trips for track days.
It doesn't help that I have the X3M and have used it for most longer trips lately. I need to get the M2C out more.

It does have a firm ride although not quite as firm as the M2C. I've got a 2020 base X3M with the 20" rims that helps compared to the 21" on the Comp. Plus I've got the SW update that improved the dynamic dampers and smoothed out most roads. Plus I just upgraded to Michelin PS4 SUV which are smoother than the P Zeroes. The ride is fine except for very broken or pot holed streets, where it can get annoying. But I've got an annoying vibration at idle. It comes and goes and hasn't been diagnosed in 3 dealer visits. I drove an identical X3M base and it had a similar vibration at times but was mostly much smoother than mine.

2,600 miles on it right now, purchase date May 22, 2021.
First 1,450 miles on Highway from DC to Dallas. Great cruiser (in comfort), pushed it to 100-105 a few times during that drive, tried to oscillate speed between 65 and 95 as much as possible. My 20-yo daughter joined me on that trip and both of us were very comfortable covering 1400 miles in 2 days. One note -- from the first drive, at 6 miles on ODO, I noticed a slight vibration when braking, emphasized over the speed band of about 50-60mph. I let it settle and did not mention this during the break in service in Dallas at 1,450 miles. However, it never settled so I brought it in last week and they decided to replace rear rotors and brakes to fix it?! I was surprised that the rear brakes would cause something like this, but apparently they "fixed it". Note that it is not trivial to identify the issue as it is really visible over a small band of speeds, however, long story short -- it is still here. I believe they wasted $2k in materials and labor with the first "fix". Monday of this week, I went back in and took the main technician out for the ride and asked him to hold the wheel at specific speeds and he clearly identified the issue and they are now replacing the FRONT rotors and brakes. This is not a big deal, just an annoyance I want to eliminate. Other than that, very enjoyable and fun car. I love it MUCH more than the F80 -- size, fun factor, everything. I absolutely love the 6MT (same as in the F80). I expect to put 500-600 miles on it monthly, and once I am back in the air, then probably less than that |

16 days into ownership of my 2021 and I have about 700 miles on her. 100 of those miles was my trip back from taking delivery from the dealership that was a bit of a distance away.
Its my daily and I live about 18 miles from my office. So I will put about 9,600 on my M2C annually assuming we don't drive it for any big trips or anything. Seems about right considering my previous car I owned for about 5 years and put 49K miles on it. I have a 2022 C8 allocation, so I will probably sell/trade the car for the C8 in about 1.5 years (I'm assuming my build date will be delayed substantially) and it will most likely have less than 20K miles on it when the time comes around. Do you have the clutch stop installed? If not, I definitely recommend it as it will allow you to position your seat properly instead of the cramped position needed for the insanely long pedal throw. |
