Remap of F40 118i

Hi,

I am expecting my F40 118i later in May.

Has anyone done a remap on that? Any dependable one you can recommend? What would be the expected gain in HP/torque and is there any impact on consumption?

Thank you.

You can go with a piggy-back solution like race chips offers, that starts as low as 139€ for 171hp and 273Nm. It's very easy to install, have one myself on my G01 and still satisfied with it. When you no longer want it or go to the official shop during warranty period, you can remove it in 15mins.

Advantage is you don't remove the original map in the ECU and the dealer won't notice it to avoid discussions about waiving their guarantee.

Consumption is supposed to go down with about 10% but when you use the extra oooomph, you won't see that of course. In my G01 I feel the extra low down grunt/torque and that helps to avoid downshifts on the AT, lowering the consumption during normal daily driving. For only 139€, this seems a no-brainer to me. Also the extra torque and power aren't too big numbers to create excessive tear and mechanical overload. The transmission and engine can cope with it, also on longer term.
