IND Keyhole Delete

Hello all.

I am looking at installing my keyhole delete and wondering if it is possible to remove the locking mechanism from the part you take off, and put it in the cover with the keyhole delete.

My thinking is, if ever in a pinch, I could break/dremel the keyhole cover and still use the key in the cylinder.

Has anyone tried this? I haven't seen any videos showing it yet which makes me think it isn't possible.

This is pretty much the path everyone takes, in fact every video I found showed this option. You have to trim the new cover a bit to make it fasten to the lock cylinder. Five minutes of effort.

Thanks, steve that is super helpful.

I need to find the videos you are talking about. I have found 4 install videos and none showed it done that way or how to trim the cover.

I thought I had pasted that link in my initial response. My apologies.

If you have a dremel it makes things a little faster, otherwise razor blades and some patience will do the trick.
