sentry camera

Looking for a 360 degree sentry or dash cam for when my car is parked. Not sure where to start looking or what brands are worth considering.
Not worried about price. More concerned with picture quality, and connectivity. Anyone have any recommendations?
TIA

I'm interested in finding that out too. I was hoping the BMW app will be able to do that one day to allow you to view your vehicle from your phone. I think Tesla offers something to that degree.

Blackvue is what I have. Has saved me twice. Once for a burglary and again for a hit and run while parked.

I have two channel Blackview as well.

The 360 coverage is a common request. I have read where people actually said screw it and installed two double camera systems, to have four. Seems like over kill but in some areas people are such asses that you need to catch the jerk in the action.

Interesting that BMW has turned on the ability to record all around your car and cache 20 seconds before and after an Incident. I was wounding if this could be turn on to record longer. I was hoping the 'engineers' would add the ability to record a 24 hour loop but not yet. It's coming at some point.

I also have BlackVue 2 channel + BlackBoxMyCar battery pack in the trunk. With the extra battery I get about 40 hours of park mode on full charge, couldn't be happier.

So if one was looking to get front and rear cameras from blackvue with ability to record while driving and parked, which models should that person order? Asking for a friend 😊

And is this something a dealership would be able to install?

At least for the LCI model, the BMW Connected app already provides a form of this feature. It is a bit slow, and I believe it only provides still images, but it does allow you to look around the car in all directions.

The feature is called Remote 3d View and is on the bottom of the home screen.

Just installed the new version of their 900 (900x) in my Porsche. Took a couple hours, and installed a V1. The new version has the battery monitoring and parking mode settings built in. And has option of it's own cell connection (did not get that since I'd be paying ATT 20 for the M5's sim card, 20 for the Porsche and another 20 for the dash cam? forget about it. Between netflix, att, disney plus, apple music, amazon prime, smug mug, photoshop, etc, I could lease a Ferrari and have money left over to gas it up.

I am very happy with the BlackVue cameras. They function well. If you are parked near a wifi that you are allowed to log into (one that does not require you to 'ok' some bullshit to connect) the camera can use that internet connection to up load 'events to the cloud.' I could not do that at work because even though I could put my log in into the software, the connection would not go because of the protocols they use. bastards.

BlackVue is nice but isn't the problem with all of them that it drains your car battery to the point where it basically dies?

no. Has either built in battery minding (newer version 900x) or use external battery minder (Magic Pro). The device monitors the voltage of the car's battery and automatically powers down the camera if it gets below your chosen level.

The X has only three levels to choose from, while the external older unit has dip switches to pick Time and Battery level, I think it had 4 battery level choices if I recall.

I have had it in my M5 for 3 years and no battery issues. I have left it on parking mode for days at a time (by accident usually LOL).

I have the newer version in my Porsche.

Both work great and I ended up using a different email to have a second account on their server for the Free uploads of clips to the cloud.

The free account has limited number of downloads per month and the videos are only stored for 30 days.

The pay accounts are stupid expensive and you still need to pay EXTRA for each camera. WTF?
