Rev match?
Hello CS group, I am considering moving out of our F80 M3 into a M2 CS.
Hoping to not start a rev match debate, but I personally hate this feature (Im a "heel toe" person). Can rev match be turned off in a M3 CS? In the F80, I need to select "sport plus" and its gone. Is this the same in the CS? Or is there a better way to disable this feature? |

It's full traction off in sport plus for disabling it.
I got used to it and like it, but I hear ya.

Really? At least on the M3 can program the "M" buttons on the steering wheel, for different levels of DSC but still in "sport plus". I have my M1 sport plus w traction control on, and M2 sport plus with out TC.
Sadly I just didnt't get used to rev match, Ive had the M3 for 5 years, and it still bothers me today. It might keep me from buying the 2 CS if I cant keep it off. |

I have old school bmw track cars and while I enjoy a good heel toe in those cars I also enjoy the super quick rev match the CS has to offer. Love them both.

Yes it can be turned off but you need to know how to "drive" without the nannies.

So you can't turn it off via bimmercode? That was the first thing I was going to look to do when my car returns from detailer.
It works *very* well. It is kinda fun. I feel guilty using it. Then got back in my 540i yesterday and my right foot wasn't as fast as it should be on the downshift. If I could I would program it off on M2. |

Even in the late build F80 cars it can't be turned off without disabling everything.

Got it, sorry.
This is disappointing. Im fine WO TC. I guess had hoped, since we got our 2015 F80, BMW would adapt to accommodate the enthusiasts that buy these cars. I'd be curious if anyone knows if it could be coded out or not (F80 it could not). |

At first it annoyed me, but honestly the more i've driven the car I don't mind it.
I find the rev-hang far more annoying, along with the slop in the shifter. |

I don't notice much slop at all in my shifter. I was expecting it feel loose, but nope. I do notice a sponginess when shifting into first if the rpm is higher than it would like. It seems to resist going into first until it's in it's happy place. I don't try to force my will upon it.

I have no idea what the UCP clutch upgrade will do / is all about, but mine is in the mail. I hear the combo of the shifter and the UCP clutch is a winner. We shall see

Thank you all for the info. I think we are going to move forward, regardless of rev match being more invasive than an early F80. Hope I dont regret it.
Again thanks for all the replies. |

If its the same as the M2C, you can turn the rev match off without being in Sport+ mode, but you MUST have DSC completely off. DSC off = no rev matching, steering and throttle response can be in any mode. I frequently drive my car with DSC off in Eco or Sport just to blip my own downshifts when i'm driving around slowly.
