The M2C is really the only CS competitor. You have to put the CS against actual sports cars, which it should fail in the comparisons. That's why the C gets so much love because it's a truly fantastic bargain. CS punches above it's weight, and the C punches waaayyy above it's weight.

This summary at the end of the review nails pretty well the allure for me: Bold, brash and brilliant fun. The wildest yet most usable car here.

It was for me in the 981 GT4... and they mention in reviews that the engine doesn't really sing until 4K or better, and that's really true. So you are really up there in 2nd gear speed wise before you have any good sounds. It just doesn't "work" at all on the street unless you are really running hard in the 60-90 range on back roads, and I flat out will not ever do that nor ever condone it. Have literally lost acquaintances and family to those types of things.

Yeah, doesn't take a lot of track time to understand that. 17+ years of it later you know darn well what the story is.

All I am saying is if you mainly drive at the backroad with less than 60miles/hr, miata will bring you way more fun than a modern p car or m2cs in this regard. I don't get the argument that you complaining a sports car drives mediocre in mid-low speed. The cars are designed to track and autobahn after all.

Weirdly enough, I have a bumpy hairpin crazy road near me that almost feels like a tarmac rally. My 20 year old WRX is more fun than my M2C on this road. I'd pretty much guarantee it's more fun than the other 3 cars too. It's probably not faster, just more fun. Heel and toeing, just eating the bumps (I have Kone adjustables, more camber, loads of braces, nice fat rear sway bar). On any other surface the M2C kills it in every conceivable way though. And that's the thing. I spend most of my time on "any other surface". That's why I love the M2C it does everything so well and it is the car I can drive all the time and get a massive smile. The CS is the next level but apparently even better as a daily. Can't wait. |
