Transmission Cooler Guard?

Would anyone have any info re a manufacturer that produces guards for our many air/oil coolers? More specifically a guard for the transmission cooler? Mine's been taking a bit of a beating lately. I've managed to fix some of the cooling fins, but afraid to touch the rest for obvious reasons

Is the road debris and stones hitting the transmission cooler?

Could you post pictures if possible?

Yes, most definitely stones are getting through. I do a lot of highway driving (to my cottage). Not too concerned about bugs, but stones are definitely getting through the massive holes/grilles in the bottom half. As I said, I've managed to fix most of the bent fins, but as you can see, there are a few I'd be afraid of breaking off.

I know IND has something for the M2, but maybe it's too soon for the F97.

EDIT: The other 'rads' are either 100% ok, or 95% ok. Even the oil cooler is 100% (the one that lies flat, underneath)

Could consider what a bunch of Porsche owners and guys that to do heavy track work do and buy some fine metal mesh and install it yourself behind the larger black mesh that came with the car.

@BMWZ4, thanks for sharing the pictures. I would not be surprised if BMW added guards as a production change later. This is exactly what happened with F36 vehicles.

I thought of that & just tie-wrap it to the black plastic guard behind it but was hoping there would be a more pro version available. Thanks for the reply though

EDIT: if I install some fine mesh, it'll actually go in front of that existing black guard you referred to - that guard is in front of the larger cooler/rad. I need it to go in front of the smaller tranny cooler you see in the pic...

Hope you're right, but also hope it's not in 3 years lol! I'll try to do something temporary in the meantime
