Got scammed thru the forums

Yeah I know I know...

MaximumFreckles gave me someone's phone number who was supposedly selling a catless dp, talked to them via text, sent $300 via zelle and they went ghost on me for a week straight.

Riperrino. Def be looking into Zelle and see if they have any contingency plans like PayPal does. If you don't want to eat the $300 then the law men could get involved, or jot that number in all social media sites and see if it pings on someone. Keep all info you have and find for support. Because there isn't actually proof of anything, only a text convo, I don't think there will be much luck. Also the number doesn't seem to be legit, when I call H voice mail box sounds very foreign. I've called from my main phone and a burner line in a different area code and no response.

If there was any way possible of finding out who the number belongs to then the text convo is all that's needed. It very well could be a burner they used for this one scam and you'll most likely eat the $300.00. Id still look into Zelle and see what they can cover/do.
