10,000 Mile Service, Should I Remove ECU Tune?
Well it is time for me to go in for my 10,000 mile oil change and I am a bit worried because I have the ECU flash tuned. Should i contact the tuner and reset the specs to factory before i take it in ?
Will the dealer run a diagnostic on the ECU? Thanks |

if you have a flash tune on a car that has a warranty im pretty sure the dealer can see it even if you flash back to stock map.
i believe the dme has a flash counter.... but i guess we will seee

If the dealer receives vehicle programming updates from BMW AG, any programming modifications will be detected during the diagnostic phase. Some dealers will not update vehicle programming unless the vehicle is first returned to OEM programming at a significant charge.

Just ask for no SW update. I've gone to the dealer MANY times since being flash tuned and under warranty. I asked for no SW updates and never had any issues.
