Buying brake pads
First, for reference I have the grey calipers.
I was wondering if anyone had a link for buying brake pads for both the front & rear. I've been looking all over, and found a bunch. But I can't figure out if they're the correct ones for my brakes. Most preferably if it's available with Amazon Prime. Because, unfortunately I live in Hawaii, and shipping is expensive |

When on Amazon if your vehicle information is entered in your garage it will search for parts that fit your car and when you click on a product page it will tell you if it's a match to your car.

Understood, but it seems from reviews under one of them that do have reviews, it's by users with F8X M cars.

I have the same car with the gray calipers and was looking for a street pad that was better than the stock pad. The Hawk HPS 5.0 pads have better bite and feel than stock and give off a fraction of the brake dust and it easily cleans off. Not like the stock brake dust that is heavy and sticky.
Front Hawk HPS 5.0 pad set, Part# HB765B.664, for 4-piston Brembo gray calipers on 340mm x 30mm rotors, about $155 Rear Hawk HPS 5.0 pad set, Part# HB825B.649, for 1-piston Bosch gray calipers on 330mm x 20mm rotors, about $130 You should have your brake fluid drained and replaced at the same time which BMW recommends every two years to prevent it from picking up moisture and damaging brake parts. At the same time it is almost no additional labor to change out your rubber brake hoses to stainless steel. You will absolutely notice the improvement in pedal feel, much more solid and secure. StopTech Stainless Steel Brake Lines, Part# PLBF30F32, about $110 for set of four. I'd suggest contacting Mike at Extreme Power House (X-PH) for a quote. He has great advice and prices. He's located in Las Vegas so I'm sure he must ship to Hawaii and could tell you what the cost is. Could be free to ship if you are buying several items? Mike would know. Hope this helps. |
