Europe trip

Picked up at welt went to Prague,Vienna,Budapest, Ljubljana Munich Nuremberg with m2c. Had 1200 mile service done in Villach Austria. Had m4 previously and was concerned on feel and speed differences. Not to worry. Hit 160 on autobahn And car was still pulling. Had a test on brakes when a slow car pulled out in fast lane, worked great on slow down did not phase my passenger. The car sound in a garage sounds fine to me, woke up people in garage when started. Overall the suspension was better than m4 the way it is set up, takes cobblestones well and also high speed bumps. The gas tank did need more fill ups but during breakin got 25.6 mpg . Overall well pleased, like HS Color as well. Off to Frankfurt for drop off then the long wait.

I'm on day 3 of my long wait.

Btw, was it easy for you to get the 1200 mile service scheduled? I had a really hard time communicating with someone from a Frankfurt dealership. (Language barrier and confusion with the service itself). I ended up not getting it done and accumulated an additional 250 miles over. :/

You all think that's okay?

Also, I heard that the service gets completed at the VPC if they notice that the service needs to be completed. Can anyone confirm this?

Awesome. I’m in Munich now and pickup on Tuesday! Just got back from Oktoberfest. Too much drinking today.

I don't get it: if you pointed out at the infodesk
your new M2C is waiting outside. Go there with an employee and show them the mileage.

Or write something like 2000km service on a piece of paper.

It's my neighbouring country and I speak German too, but my experience is Germans speak English pretty well in general...

Cheers
Robin

That or use Google Translate and type "2000km M car service, please!"

Part of the problem was that I was in Switzerland at the time, so I was talking to him over the phone. Maybe he was just the "secretary" type person there or something. I was expecting to get to transferred to the service department like here in the States, but I only worked with him. It was weird too because he asked for all kinds of info from me along with a request to email them my temp registration. By the end of the call, I did manage to get an appointment set up, but I still didn't think he truly understood what service I was trying to do. I didn't get a warm and fuzzy after the call, but I figured that I can explain/show easier to them when I arrive.

As luck would have it though, we ended up being stuck in traffic for 2.5 hrs (like cars turned off and people out of their cars) from Zurich to Franfurt and missed my appointment. I tried to keep them in the loop in regards to ETA via email, but I never got a response, so I was just like eff it.

I was lucky and only hit 1173 miles before drop off. They do the service automatically if you are close to 1200 at drop off according to the PCD people I spoke with.
What all do they do on the service? Engine, trans, diff oil /filters what else? Seems like all that matters other than a good once over.

Lucky to not hit 1200, get service, and blast down the autobahn at 155+?

Thanks for sharing
Here in Europe and french motorsport forum we are starving for first owners feedback !!!
It seems like the M2C shows a message on display and is limited in power till breakin, do you have the same?

99% of the trip was on back road through the alps. Top speed was of little to no concern. I did end up in a Lamborghini sandwich on the tiny stretch of autobahn I used to make it back into town.
I'm more of a "turning, braking and cycling through gears" kind of guy.

I believe we actually ended up hitting Austrian/Bavarian/Italian and Swiss alps!
Really want to go back on a motorcycle.

Rolling through the alps is def the best & most important part of the ED trip!

The top speed run was just meant as a "bucket list" kind of thing.

I definitely hear ya on that! Last time I was on the autobahn in 2015 I drove from Munich to Hamburg over night with several hour stints at 135 (needle was pegged on the rental)

As for the infamous 155 limited top speed I did that in the states many times in the e36 m3 years ago.

But I agree the autobahn is special, the lane discipline is incredible. Really pisses me off to get back on hwy 40.
