Showcase sounds an awful lot like concept and not seeing the S55. Especially after the 1addicts thread.

Sounds a lot like the inevitable normal depreciation curve for our cars will be arriving soon!

Maybe they're dropping the 3 cylinder diesel into the M2 for emissions compliance. Most likely it'll some sort of B58 though.

A 3 cylinder for the M2...that'd be a kick in the Bollocks

If it had a 100hp electric motor to torque fill (and was petrol) id probably be game. Luckily we're getting at least one more 6er.

I may be reading this wrong, but it sounds like they are 'introducing' the N55B30T0? They mention the 230 and 240 in the following sentence, which are not unreleased engines.

Hmmm.. Has to be a competition or GTS package? Would they change all 2018 base M2's?

Looks like I will move up the list for a 2017 rapidly once these get announced. Everyone will want a 2018 M2 with super duper engine and I will move right into slot #1 for a 2017 with what will be now called .... ready? ..... wait for it ..... wait .... the "base" M2 engine. Insert diabolical laugh here.

I'll be honest I'd be pretty pissed if they changed the base engine in the M2 this quick. If it's a special variant then sure hit us with the limited production and the 90k price tag I'm guessing it'll have. That's different. Guess the wait is on.

the S55 variant on the M2 would be sick ... Unfortunately i do not see it happening
Maybe they are going from the N55 to the B58

Lucky my builds not till March so I can see what will happen.

Whole reason on buying the M2 was that it would be better in the bad weather in the UK than a s55 powered m3/4.

Id take a b58 though as they seem to be getting great reviews in the 1/240i

Could be interpreted that way. May also be interpreted as a tuned B58 going into the M2 as that would be the "latest" engine they reference above being showcased in the M2.

I read it the same. This is the likely situation based on the context.
