What's the optimum RPM for Launch Control?

I'm aware that there are many variables, tires, temperature, road condition... What do you find works best for you? I find there's quite a bit of wheel spin even if I do a 3K dump. How much is too much? Would it be wise to short shift to 2nd? I do about 5 runs a year at the track but never dragged, so looking for some tips.

I believe I remember seeing a factory driver turning is down over 500 RPM from the initial rev, but this was a while ago.

Maybe someone from a BMW Performance center may have thoughts on this.
