Question Bavsound speaker upgrades?

Hello everyone!

So I recently got a stage one speaker upgrade from Bavsound. So far I am impressed with the quality, but I can already start to hear some distortion form them. I don't play the music loud, I was wondering if anyone has had these and if they are going to last. Because if not I have my old speakers that I can re-install and use the money to get an exterior part or something.

From what I have gathered from different reviews, the BAV speakers are an upgrade from the base system. From the Logic 7 they would be a down grade and may be on par with the HiFi system. You have not specified which system you car came with stock so take it for what it is worth. I have run the stock Base audio speakers in my E87 (same part numbers as the E90) on up to 100W rms (with proper filters) and they did amazingly. If you are not adding any additional amplification and processing, stick the stock speakers back in and use the money else where.

You have to consider more than the speakers

You have to consider more than the speakers.
There are three different or 4 different BMW sound systems you could
have and they all have different power outputs.
This will have a big effect on any aftermarket speakers you
put in .

Aftermarket speakers without and aftermarket amp is not that good
of a solution. Only the L7 or Individual audio system is likly to be able
to power some of the lower wattage aftermarket speakers to a decent degree.

The best solution is and amp or amp/processor and a set of three ways
for the front speakers. One of the cheaper ones is the MBQuarts.

If you want a decent upgrade for a Hi Fi system the process is well documented here . For L7 it's more of a problem as shown in the above links.
