Wiring An Amp & Sub to Base Sound System

Vehicle - 2011 335is
Base sound system

I would like to upgrade the whole system at some point, but for now I would like to just tie in the amp and sub that already own.

I'm familiar with wiring up an amp with an aftermarket stereo, but not so much with a stock system. So I want to make sure I'm on the right track.

From what I understand, I would use T-Taps to tap into the woofer +/- wires and convert that to a female RCA cable. I would then have a male cable that plugs into that and runs back to the amp. For the amp I would use a "add a circuit" to the fuse box for the remote wire to power the amp on when the car is active.

I found this post which I believe are the pin numbers for the wires, I would have to double check that.

So if I didn't butcher that process, my follow up question would be if I need anything additional like a crossover or a LOC like:

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully I can make it sound decent for now..

Did you read the audio build sticky.

Did you read the audio build sticky.
If you have the base system called the stereo system
there are some considerations you have to make for the factory
eq.

Are you sure you have the base system and not the Hi Fi system?

http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1411521234

The above is the standard procedure for modifying the ampless tweeterless stereo base system . There were two no pay for it options
in 2011 the stereo and the Hi Fi.
Parts may varry according to taste and budjet.
I would read the sticky's
at the top of the front page forum.
Best to get a Technic Harness no Taps needed for anything but the
sub.

Thank you for the guide! I have not seen that yet so I will read through it.

I did see the sticky and it had a lot of good information for upgrading. Apparently I should have scrolled down more and would have seen the base system post...

I originally contacted Technic about getting a wiring harness for the system but he didn't have one available for the base system. Although I thought I had seen a few posts with some type of harness being used for that, or I could have confused him. Based on my VIN and having no tweeters or center speaker I do have the base stereo setup.

I was hoping to just tap into either the wiring behind the stereo or under the seats and run that through a converter for an amp/sub. But I'm at a bit of a loss for how to do that. I definitely want to make sure everything is reversible.

I'll take a look at that .pdf and see what I can learn, thanks!

Technic definalty makes a harness for that system
it on his website and shown in that link on the base system
upgrade.
He doesn't seem to hang out here anymore and its
been hard for people to get in touch with him.
