PSS Rear Tire Tread Width

I blew a right rear tire so I ordered a new Michelin PSS in stock OEM size. The new tire's tread widths are significantly larger than the stock left rear tire. I can almost fit my entire finger in the new tire tread whereas the stock tire's tread may only fit a a couple of coins placed together. I noticed that the stock front tire treads are wider too and match the new right rear tire.

Anyone know Michelin changed there tread pattern?
