RIP Chuck Yeager

Can this year get any worse?

Still, 97 years for a ballsy test pilot like Yeager is a helluva good run.

RIP, sir.

Ugh. Just, ugh. That man is as American Cowboy as it gets... they don’t make ‘em like that anymore. The end of a legendary generation...

I watched a video of him riding back seat in an F-15 a few weeks ago. (the video was a few years old), very solid man he was still cock of the walk. A real trail blazer right to the end.

There was a warning posted in the flight briefing room in the Air Cav squadron I was once a part of. It said:

"There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots."

Chuck Yeager was the exception to that rule.

I read his autobiography in just a few hours in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. If you ever kicked him in the balls, you'd leave the scene limping...

For a man with the largest of balls, it is crazy to think that he had made it to 97 carrying those things around. God speed!

He has been my dad's hero his whole life. Just purchased his autobiography and "The Right Stuff" books to give him for Christmas.

RIP Chuck.

I read his book at least a dozen times.

What a man. What a patriot. What an American.

We are all poorer for this.

WTF 2020?!?!!

My grandfather is retired AF and met him a few times, and gave me a signed copy of his autobiography when I was young, I have read it a few times, might have to pull it out again.
