It wasn't very good but I clearly remember an English show (we had a lot of them in Aus) in the early 80's that even then I thought, wow, they are showing this? It had Sid james and it was based around a black couple moving into a white neighbourhood. It was brutal, i remember one quote so clearly, the black wife was preggers and Sid says to his wife in a panicked voice "they have them in litters you know".

Benny Hill was aired on our public broadcasting channel so they left the boobs in. That was something on a 1979 American TV with a coat hanger antenna.
Although no boobs, we'd always stick around and watch a very dry witted humorist presenter tell stories just sitting in a chair on a stage. The Dave Allen Show was one of our faves growing up.
