I've seen a handful that were well manicured suited the person wearing it. I also have a handful of friends that had beards before the trend, these guys had facial hair in grade school and theirs is valid. Aside from the aforementioned, I completely agree with you, yet women seem to love it.

I could be considered a hater in this trend though as my facial hair grows like Joe Dirt's. My 5 o'clock shadow is more like a 10 o'clock a.m. shade. I envy the beard guys to a degree, especially the ones that don't look good or the uneven non-maintained beards. I'm bald anyway so I would never grow one out but some 5 0'clock shadow would be nice.

I just hope the next fad is 40 something, dad-bod guys, with good personalities and intelligence. With the way society is going I'm sure it will be 6 month old babies with tattoos and drug problems.

Takes lot more time and effort to maintain a beard then to just shave. I'm getting late start on mine this year but only takes 2 months and it's full on.

Yeah. I'm wearing a goatee in anticipation of Halloween since I'm going as a pirate and the damn thing takes WAAAAAYYYYY longer to keep up than cleanly shaving.
