Hey,

First off sorry if this is the wrong section I’m new here but I’ve got a massive issue!

I picked up a nice e46 last month but turbo went almost straight away, I got it recovered back to my house to avoid damage and replaced the turbo.. when I first installed it the turbo sounded great but didn’t have boost due to a faulty actuator, I picked up a new one and sure enough it worked but I left it for a couple weeks as I still had my old car, I came back to my project within the last week and upon first start up there is a really bad noise.
I’ve changed and flushed the oil and found no debris or metal in the oil which was a surprise, but still the knocking is there! I checked the old lil return line and luckily the bearing that blew didn’t make it through..

I’ll attach a video to the post if I can so you can hear for yourself.

Question is do I need a new engine?
