Yup, I think the tails are a pretty large component of what makes a rear end of a car look good. The brake light action on the E46 with the LED amber blinkers and the instant-on adaptive tail lights is really eye-catching and they really bring attention to their crispness when they're on. The LCI E90 LED's look pretty great though, and maybe the facelifted E92 will have LED tails as well.

All and all, I do think the E46 M3 looks much better than the E92 even if it is "dated." I really did not like the E92 for a while, but it has been growing on me a lot, especially in white. I have found myself lurking these forums for the past few days and finally decided to register this morning.
Agreed, I love the look of the E46. It was instantly appealing unlike the E92 which I still don't like from some angles. I like the E90 LCI though, and I can't ignore the practicality and better ride of a white sedan E90 daily driver. Planning to keep the E46 though!

I got to follow my E92 home from picking up the beater at a repair place today. I love the E92 lights with the three bars of light across each taillight. Also, the E92s do have adaptive brake lights same as the E46s.
