$7.5 Billion in Federal Funds Yield Only 8 EV Charging Stations
May 07, 2024 The Biden Administration’s $7.5 billion effort to jump-start the electric-vehicle charging landscape is moving very, very slowly. Now more than two years after the program was signed into law in late 2021, only eight chargers have been put in place. https://www.autoweek.com/news/a60702...ging-stations/ Color me shocked |

More news from the mentally deranged
EV Sales Won’t solve Climate problem –Most Important Climate News–5/7/24 Inside Climate News asked an important question, “EV Sales Are Taking Off. Why Is Oil Demand Still Climbing?” There is no sign oil demand will drop for years. Daniel Raimi, a fellow at Resources for the Future, an environment and energy research institute told the news service, “Under current policies, EVs are not an existential threat to global oil demand, not even close. If we’re going to achieve our long-term climate goals we need additional public policies and technological innovation to get us where we need to go.” Climatecrisis247 believes that EVs only solve a modest amount of the problem of greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, their sales have slowed. A large number of other huge industries use oil, and as the global economy improves demand for crude will increase with it. https://climatecrisis247.com/news/ev...e-news-5-7-24/ Just another reminder to the green idiots that think EV's will fix the planet. |

These things are selling so well we will pay you to buy one!
$9,000 EV Tax Rebate from Washington Coming in August 05/07/2024 Washington recently launched an initiative called the Washington State Instant Rebate program to make EVs more affordable, especially on leases. Up to $45 million has been set aside by Washington's Department of Commerce for the program, which will expire in June 2025 or when the funding runs out. Under the program, the rebate is available to a single person with income up to $45,180 annually (or $93,600 for a family of four). Also, eligible buyers need to have a credit score that qualifies for any lease deal on offer. Buyers taking the EV on lease for three or more years will get a rebate of up to $9,000, while the available rebate is $5,000 for a two-year lease. The rebate is even available on the purchase and lease of used EV vehicles, provided the vehicle is fully battery-electric and is worth below $90,000. In addition to the rebate, the state exempts purchased vehicles from sales tax under the zero-emission vehicles provision on lease payments up to $15,000. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/news...st/ar-BB1lYoB4 No mention if Federal rebates still apply? Wonder where does the money come from to fund this program? Just asking for a friend! In a completely unrelated story. Behind EV Push, a Wealth Transfer From Red to Blue Regions April 09, 2024 President Joe Bozo’s new electric vehicle (EV) mandates will likely cause a sizable wealth transfer from rural red regions of the United States to urban blue sections, and to wealthy Democrats who reside in them, according to reports. According to an October 2023 report by the Texas Public Policy Foundation, as much as $48,000 of the cost of the average EV sold in the United States is paid not by the owner but in the form of “socialized costs” that are spread out among taxpayers and electricity consumers over a 10-year period. The report states that “the average model year 2021 EV would cost $48,698 more to own over a 10-year period without $22 billion in government favors given to EV manufacturers and owners.” “[The mandate is] aimed at accommodating a very narrow segment of the auto-buying public: wealthy, white Democrats who live in a handful of liberal communities,” Mr. Bryce said. “EV ownership is largely defined by class, ideology, and geography.” In a February analysis of EV buyers, Mr. Bryce reported that 57 percent of them earn more than $100,000 annually, 75 percent are male, and 87 percent are white. In addition, EV buyers are overwhelmingly Democrats, with 71 percent of Republicans stating in a Gallup poll that they would not consider owning an electric vehicle. A recent Rasmussen poll found that 65 percent of Americans surveyed don’t think they’re likely to make an EV their next automobile purchase. https://www.theepochtimes.com/articl...SOpt%2BTmvpv3S “The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.” ― Ronald Reagan |

Have two pressurised slim f/extinguishers in mine, unfortunately many ppl don't carry them and ask others when the unthinkable should happen.
In new processes some extinguishers are now made in strengthened moulded plastic which is five times stronger than steel and lighter. |

On the subject of EV fires vs ICE fires. This is the classic apples and oranges comparison. A properly maintained ICE not involved in a crash has a very low opportunity (even Ford Pintos ) to catch fire. The same is true for EV's, the numbers of fires are very low but the difference is that perfectly maintained and even new EV's do occasionally catch fire and they almost always end in a thermal run away do to the LiPo batteries. There is almost no such thing as a small EV fire. We have many posts here on the unique issues of controlling EV fires and the issues with toxic out gassing. Not that I want to stand next to a burning ICE car either but it's a order of magnitude more serious when LiPo's are involved.
The problems with EV fires are going to get worse as the fleet ages and the batteries are more unbalanced and internal resistances increase. Add to that the second hand EV market and unknown battery history and vehicle maintenance. Then we will have a plethora of EV battery charlatan's "rebuilding" packs that will never perform as new or as safe as new and we don't have the brightest future for EV fires and the resulting cost of insurance and property damage. Anyone think this is typical? |

There are lots of cases happened to Lamborghini burn and they are all over on social media. Most of the issues are stupid drivers and not the cars themselves. One example is driver try to show off and keep roaring the engine at a stop and cause the engine to overheat.

I was taught when I was at kindergarten "water and electricity" do not mix well. Always dry both hands completely before plugging in or unplug any electric devices from electric sources.
