E46 m3 111,000 miles drove for about 3 weeks everything was fine till noticed a subtle shake low rpms like reversing or on 1st but once going was fine till one morning sounded like squealing and shaking and turned of engine and now won’t turn on but you can hear the gears change just not shown on the dash. The transmission light popped up which was the first time seeing. I got the code “SMG ACTUATION, clutch, dynamic”
First checked the salmon relays and some fuses I don’t know if I checked all of the ones I needed to But -Both relays click when when powered. What might I check next?

If it is not the salmon colored relay it could be the SMG pump or clutch problem. Pump itself has a number of components that can go bad There is also a small spring on clutch itself that can case same issues. It is it SMG you should be able to get rebuild ones. New ones are around $5000, but last long time. I personally really like SMG transmission, more than manual, but with high milage they can go bad.
