Higher Ground Tour 2022 - an ultimate experience for machine and mind
Hello Everyone,
A tour in the Alps with only BMW's was on my radar for long time and I'm finally looking to get this sorted regardless the tour it will happen only in 2022. I name it "Higher Ground Tour". 2020 was a devastating year with the departure of the Inspiring Moderator Dackelone, but this made me even more willing to carry out the tour. Somehow to honor Him as soon as we are in the Alps. 2020 was also a year to forget in regards car/tour events but not entirely in vain as our desire to bring the “Higher Ground Tour” event to our members was always present. 2021 wasn’t much better either, therefore 2022 will be the year to get our asses down the road and take you on an ultimate driving adventure across the Alps. For those who haven’t been there, the roads are exceptionally good and the views equally breathtaking. Our cars will cross four countries; Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, we’ve found some pearls of hotels here, each unique in its own way. Some of the places, regions and passes we will drive: - Porsche Museum, Stuttgart / Black Forest - Schwarzwald - Davos/ Reschenpass/ Ofenpass/ Fluelapass/ Albulapass/ BerPleninapass/ Julierpass/ Majojapass/ Splügen Pass/ San Bernardinopass - Much more... This way I would like to hear from some of you that already participated and other newcomers your thoughts for this nice. Besides this thread that I would like to make official - I do also run a FB thread and what I will do is merge both information so this can be follow up accordingly. swagon mjn77 Please throw out your thoughts and ideas so we can arrange a great event in 2022! Joao

And for any newbies, don't forget you'll need some vignettes as well

Good to know as I never ordered for Germany [Only with emission sticker – also applies for foreign vehicles!] - For Italy: Probably will be taking the Telepass - what's your thoughts considering that at most we'll be driving in the mountains and not necessarily highways. - For Austria: Pretty much will get a Vignette on a local gas station [10 days] - For Switzerland pretty much doing the same - just wondering if there's a weekly vignette available as well. I can't remember which one I used in the past.

For France, i have bipper for the auto lanes. For Austria, usually buy a 10 day pass in advance. For Switzerland, i usually buy a pass in advance. 14 months is the only option! For Slovenia, same as Switzerland. |

Assume Rona is a relative! Will be very welcome as well. Together with others - inc mjn77 we set up a whatsapp group as well to start discussing some of the stuff that a event like this involves. Feel free to join there if you're interested. Just pm either one of us.

Jealous. Wish I could join you guys. Would if I could.
Oh, I really don't think you want 'rona to come along. China has shared more 'rona than any of us ever wanted.
