Nitron R1 or JRZ RS1 are the top choices. We already have Nitrons on one shop street car, so RS1s may get the nod. We have double and triple JRZs on the track cars.

Of course, I'm not even a novice on track yet (zero experience) and either damper choice would be total overkill - buuuuuuuuuuut.....

I like old Toyotas. Everything on the car is one off pretty much. Turbo engine swap, BBK, one off SSR wheels, makes 400 whp blablabla.

This is 4x4 mode. My one off suspension kit will be going on very soon ;-) 18x10.5 +5 SL disc rear.

I'm a bit worried about the 18x10 front....but I think it will be reasonable on the street. -2.5 camber should let everything clear.

I really need to get a proper coil over suspension now - wheels and tires will be here in less than a week

Well, I changed the Total Quartz Racing 10W60 after 8,500 miles to see how it would hold up. Not surprisingly, it held up quite well!

Brought my 63k mile E46 M3 in yesterday to have one of my 3 BMW Master Level techs do a 'premium' Inspection II + VANOS bolts. The car has been running great in this cold weather - I was excited to get it back Monday in 'like new' condition.

I received a text at 3PM with these 2 pics. Mind you, I was in a meeting with my fiancee and the event rep for my upcoming wedding - we were sorting out the menu etc. Needless to say I got in trouble with the fiancee as I was paying more attn to my phone than the menu...

Anyways, yes - I was lucky to catch this before there was total VANOS failure which would lead to well...a full rebuild. We have not seen a ton of these fail, but we do know they are just another E46M3 weak point. On our FB post the owner of Performance Technic in CA said he has replaced 15 in just 2 years!

Looks like I will just replace with new OEM equipment. I might have a new hub cryo'd...we will see.

I run total quartz racing oil as well. Is that 8500 include track time. I only run 5-6 track days before changing it out.

The car looked a little grungy when we took the valve cover originally, not sure what the previous owner ran for for first 52k miles.

Finally a free day! Been driving the shop E90M3, but I miss my E46...

Uprated VANOS bolts to 12.9. Say goodbye to failures!





Re-drilled oil pump disc. The stock hub tabs often break due to excessive 'play' in these holes. We re-drill them for a tighter fit.



Since we had to drop the pan to find the broken tab it made sense to upgrade to VAC coated bearings and ARP rod bolts.

Oh, since the stock oil pumps fail way too often, it also made sense to upgrade to our badass high volume oil pump that features our upgrade kit.
