$1.3 Mil is expensive alright. But not nearly as expensive as it costs to build them. I think its something like $6 Mil. VW is taking a big hit on each one they sell!

Not feelin' it... not exactly sure why. It looks like it was designed by 2 different people. One did the front half and the other did the back.

After the release of the car, it has been reported that while each Veyron is being sold for £840,000, the production costs of the car are approximately £5 million per vehicle. This is not the price to produce one vehicle, but rather the cost of the entire Veyron project divided by the number of vehicles produced at that time. As Bugatti, and therefore Volkswagen, are making such a loss, it has been likened by automotive journalist Jeremy Clarkson to Concorde; in that they are test-beds for advancements in technology and developed as exercises in engineering. In the case of the Veyron, it will be several years before Volkswagen will be able to see if their investment in developing ground-breaking technology has paid off. One key measure is how much (if any) of the technology developed for the Veyron finds use in mass-produced cars.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugatti_Veyron

any more questions?

Did they let you touch it? What is the policy there to take a test drive? Like a half mil deposit?

You can do anything but drive it, u can even rev it. If u wanna drive it u need to be a member of ferrari/bentley. Or u have to wanna show em u wanna buy the car, so putting a down payment is what they request. I touched it and all but didnt get in it, my freind thought (lucky basterd) go to rev it and it sounded like god!:rocks:

The "hit" was assuming the initial order of just a few Bugattis. There will be many more sold and so the project may yet break even in the future.

The dial comes with diamonds?!??!?! HAHAHAHAHA that is crazy. The car is an exercise in ultimate lavishness... if it wasn't for the super high tech that goes into making the Veyron I would say it is a waste of money.

The Veyron is a badass car. The british TV show, "Top Gear" has a superb episode almost entirely devoted to the Veyron. It's a must see if you ask me...

I don't miss Kuwait at all. The city and the people are nice, but the rest of the country is so desolate!

Surprisingly, according to the dealer in Michigan, 2 Bugatti Veyrons have been ordered by people living in Toronto, the approx 350k deposit already put down too.
