Branding. I hear what you're saying though

These 7-er renders are... Concerning to say the least. Are they really doubling down on the early e9x grille design?!

The #1 pastime on Bimmerpost is getting worked up over poorly done renders of vehicles still in full camo.

Second most popular thing to do is endlessly complain about new design cues for a few weeks, then proclaim "the car is starting to grow on me."

At times... Guilty as charged.

Is this what the new flagship from BMW will look like?

BMW corporate would have to be high to approve anything like your rendering!!!

I'm a BMW fan, through and through. I've had several Audi's in between, but I always seem to go back to BMW.......However, between the recently launched G80/82, and now this, I'm afraid if BMW keeps making these design choices, I may have to look elsewhere. I know, it's just a rendering, and to those that say this always happens and then we end up saying "it's growing on me", well the current 7 series hasn't grown on me, the new M3/M4 will never grow on me, and if this is even somewhat close to what the next 7 will look like, I can safely say I won't be looking at those either. I'm struggling to appreciate/like/enjoy the new BMW designs coming out, and this is coming from a long time BMW fan.

Interesting that you complain about current design language yet you drive what is possibly the ugliest BMW in the history of the brand in the X7.

What you need to know is that the luxury limousine landscape is changing.
With that so does the G70/G71 along with the i7.
The past has gone and in its place comes the electric future.
The new flagship aims to combine this to be the most radical 7 since the E65 of 2001
.
Many features found in the 7 even since 1988 will no longer be featured. Take for example the V12 which a model will still use M760 but with a powerful battery than a thirsty V12 ICE.

The next 7 is to take the luxury segment in that "Brave New World" currently we are still The Savage reluctant to change even though a great majority have accepted.

Its appearance (I have yet to see any example) is promised to be more radical both inside and out. Mixing ideas but more progressively up-to-date from the VFL and Next 100 Concepts.
Traditional outcomes progressed with the all-new.

Effectively you are looking at a more progressive response in order to set the future generations. It's the same with Mercedes-Benz and the EQS and Audi with the A9 Supposed "Land Jet"
If these perform better in the market place than the A8 or S-Klasse?
Then you have the template for the S-Klasse,A8 and 7 of the future. No longer held back by the dogmas of the conventional.

It's a symbol of radical change in the segment which is sorry to say ...inevitable.

Thanks AlpinaDreams, figured there would be someone who would comment on my wife's X7. If these renderings are accurate, then I'll take this X7 any day over the new 7 series, 4 series, M3, M4, etc. I just hope they don't do something bad to the 5 series front end when they redesign. Keep on dreamin Bro.

Are the X8 renderings with these same split headlights designs legit, though? There seems to be some smoke around them so I'm wondering if there's some fire...

Clean X7. Way more tricked out than mine lol.
Why the hate on the X7... sure the grills are big but it’s pretty proportional to the entire front end imho. Not like the G8X...

This. By BMW standards the X7 may have big grills but its also a big car and feels more proportional. The 7er and 4er however it just doesn't work, looks even worse with a front plate. Every time I see a new 7er it literally is like someone grinning. Just looks out of place.

Buddy, don't worry about this so called Rendering of the next generation 7 series. BMW Corporate would have to be HIGH to approve anything even resembling such design.

Let me use an analogy, its like asking a wasted guy to walk a straight line perfectly. What are the chances of that happening?

That rendering gets 0 out of 10, seriously!

I would've said the same thing about BMW corporate being high to approve some of the current designs, but indeed they are stone cold sober approving the 4 series, M3, M4, and who knows what else is coming. This may be a poor rendering, or it may actually be an accurate depiction. I am not putting it past BMW as they have shown us what they are approving.

Perhaps just turn the linear upper LED strip into two very flattened corona rings though?

Otherwise...
