Previous owner MAF delete??

Is this possible?? I can't seem to find the wiring or connector that plugs into the MAF. This is my first BMW so I have no idea where to start to look. Can anyone give me a picture or a diagram for their E46?

See the red handle of the dip stick? the MAF harness comes out of that "box" right behind the red handle.

It's very possible it was deleted, but the stock airbox put back and an alpha n tune left on there so the car runs with no CEL.

You'd delete the maf and run map/csl or alpha N for any non standard intake like CSL type or stacks.

What if it has a standard intake? I mean the fuel consumption isn't bad, just has the engine light, just making sure that I'm not going to have any problems from it.

I don't understand your question. The intake the car has now has nowt to do with what did/could have happened to your MAF.

Inspect the area I mentioned, maybe take a pic for us.

You want your MAF working correctly, not just for MPG.
