Which would You choose?
In lieu of recent events, My Dad has decided to trade in his 2006 Saab 95 for a new car... Hes going to take my Mom's 2005 Jaguar XJ8 and get her something new, because she wants something "cool". I wanted her to get a Porsche but she really cant pull that car off right...
So, Which would you guys choose? These are her top picks... BMW 6 series Jaguar XK Maserati Coupé GT Cadillac STS-V (lol..) CLS 550 Oh yeah, THANKS everyone for the info on the rear camera. Im still looking through all the options (DVD NAV2Go or Parking Sensors or whatever...) and Im hoping to get it done around my bday in late OCT. I'm sure Ill be back on asking for help with installation! |

I'd say the new jag xk - or if the budget runs to it an aston martin. Failing that the maserati would be the most exotic and classy choice. |

I'd think the Aston Martin is to pricey; the cars she listed are all sub $80k cars. Even the "baby Aston" the V8 Vantage is at least $115k My preference: Maserati - much more exotic and rare then the others. I'm thinking not much has changed with them since belonging to Ferarri; so you get the prancing pony tech at a fraction of the cost. BMW - amazing car... nuff said The other three I won't even rank. Never been a fan of Jags, and really don't like the XK. The Caddy is great for what it is, but will not compete with the other cars in terms of interior refinements and build quality. MB are not my thing as well. what about the Audi S6? Amazing balance of power and luxury and should fall in the price range you're family is looking at.

Maser has a good starting price, but make sure your Dad visits the dealer's service dept and gets a maintenence schedule along with service pricing. Out here Maserati service piggybacks onto the Ferrari dealership and servicing is 'spensive. It's a Ferrari engine, I've heard they suggest regular 5k servicing.
Point is, it's "exotic" so it's probably more expensive to maintain and probably in the shop more than a benz or bmw. If those were my choices, I'd personally stretch and get the AMG version of the CLS. |

Wow 5K for servicing? I had no idea.... Thats ridiculous, is that because the car has a lot of problems or just normal maintenance?
How much more would it be to get the AMG???? and I had heard in random conversation that Mercedes were not being made as well as they used to be.. was that just someones opinion?? Its hard to think of cars needing maintenece because my E90 has been SOOOO good to me. ..... oh yeah and I would love her to get the Range Rover Sport.. Im a HUGE fan... but she doesn't like SUVs AT ALLLLLLL... Booooo! |

I'd get the CLS550. I just don't like the look of the Maserati coupe and the rest of the cars are inferior to the CLS, IMO. It would be between the CLS and 6 if it came down to 2.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the styling, I would go for the Maserati for the engine sound alone!
My second choice would be the BMW 6 series. It looks especially nice with a set of aftermarket forged alloy wheels. It also has a good balance of performance, convenience, and style. Its always nice to make such "difficult" decisions
