Life-expectancy of stock E46 M3 shocks?
I have almost 95,000 miles on my original factory shocks which by most standards is pretty high. But I don't notice the ride being any harsher than before, it isn't wallowy, and the rebound seems good. But I'm also used to it. Most of my miles are highway. But to get to the highway, I drive through 10 miles of NYC streets, West Side Highway, etc.
Someone riding in the car the other day asked how old the shocks were. When I told them, they said they thought I was due. Their rides are an SUV and a TT so they're not used to the M3's harshness. But then again, I may be due. What do you think? Thanks - Bruce |

This response may be too late, but if you have not replaced your shocks already, you should consider doing so soon. Most shocks on any car last between 50-70,000 miles, depending on the way you drive but seeing as how you are approaching 100K miles, I would say it's about time.
