Damnit, I want so bad. Had a deposit down, then fast forward a year to 3/2021, told $25k adm. Should have known better than to trust a dealer....

I get it, high demand, they're going to try to get as much as they can. I guess I'll wait and see if I can get one in the 2nd or 3rd year of production (if it even goes that long).

So until then, I found a low mileage E92 M3! Always wanted to try out the V8. That should keep me busy for another year haha

I'm getting priced out of the GT3 market, I just wont pay over sticker for a used car. I'll be a buyer when the insanity over cars crashes like it has every other decade. If any one remembers the 1.5mm for a Daytona knows its coming.

In the meantime a new GT4 may be the ticket.

I’d agree, but money has never been printed like this (except maybe Zimbabwe). If I had to guess the prices will only continue going up.

I agree I don't see it changing anytime soon but eventually inflation will get out of hand and rates will need to be raised which will lead to other problems.

I feel something bad brewing when it comes to the economy and can't shake it.

Both excellent, the GT4 is one hell of a car. Absolutely gorgeous, sounds great, and an incredibly tactile and sharp driving experience.

The car market right now is absolutely ludicrous - especially the P-car market. Someone make it make sense to me

It's completely out of control. I follow a GT3/RS car for sale thread on Rennlist and even that groups is surprised at the GT3 prices. Its all used cars just extreme on more expensive cars.

In late 2019 I was looking at .2 GT3RSs in the 180-190 range. Outside of a Weissach there were many to choose from. Some of the exact same cars are now for sale for over 210k and have changed hands a few times. A Weissach GT3RS sole for ~274k over the weekend on Bring A Trailer. That's GT2RS territory in late 2019 early 2020.

everything is going up for a number of reasons: inflation, low production, worry about discontinued production of NA/manual cars, worry about electrification, excessive ADM prices by dealers price gouging because the current GT3s and Tourings are going up.

I paid over msrp for my gt3 back in november. and its appreciated at least 10k since. maybe the market will correct maybe it won't. people don't seem too eager to trade their current gt3 in for a new one unless they have a ton of money or are that serious about chasing tenths of a second on a track.

All valid points and if I already had a .1/.2 GT3 I would not be looking for a 992 at this time.

It is absolutely ridiculous.

It's all over. GT3s have gone up to RS prices and RS prices have gone up an extra 30-50k cad here.

Pricing is nuts. I use my M4 for track and weekends. It’s a lot of fun. Runs with the GT4s. There’s no way I can justify $250k (tax, dealer mark up etc) for the GT3. it’s beautiful. I’ve owned Turbo S. I’ve done my 200k+ car. I’ll save my $$$, retire sooner and enjoy a few more F1 races and European trips... plus, on track days, I can pile a whole lot more crap into the M4. lol

A local dealer just posted a GT3RS for 279K. F that... Not worth it... I'll get a new GT4 for a second car.

I was planning on buying a new house but that's out the window as well.

This can't be sustainable reminds me of the mid 2000s.

I really have no business even looking at these cars, but they are now truly out of my realm of possibility. Even the unloved 996 GT3, which is a rare car I know, is going for $90k+. Hell I saw a 997.2 C2S listed for $72k on Autotrader! Porsche is my dream brand but I've essentially given up on it because I just cannot justify the price (new or used). On top of everything you listed which sound wonderful, I start looking at what other cars I can have, which I know is not apples vs apples. Do I think a 997 GT3 is proportionally more fun than my E36 M3, E92 M3 and Z4MR combined when compared to the price? I'm going with no, although it would be far easier to maintain just 1 car

Sorry, long rambling of a car guy that doesn't understand these prices. It actually makes me desensitized to even these car reviews. I'm starting to lump them into Mclaren or Ferrari reviews now, just totally irrelevant for me. This is why I've been far more interested in M2/3/4 reviews, along with Toyota GR Yaris ect ect...

We can talk all day about M cars etc but issue is it's all turbo charged, the demand is for NA cars but almost no one makes them.

What I wouldn't do to grab one of these in shark blue. I can't imagine the dealer mark ups on these if a used 991.2 is in the 200's+ mark right now.
