I've built a few for friends who have kids and you can find really good condition used ones for decent prices on facebook marketplace, craigslist, offerup, etc. The last one I bought was a little lime green doodle bug for $60. The engine was blown because they forgot to check the oil, but the rest of it was mint. Bought a $99 Harbor Freight motor, and bolted it on in about 20 minutes.

I was saving my 600cc race bike motor after I wrecked the bike because I was going to put it in a kart chassis. I had everything figured out on how to do it, just never got around to it. Finally got sick of it taking up space in the shop and got rid of it. Probably for the best, no way I wouldn't do something stupid on it.

new foot pegs, decals and a smaller catch can ordered. I keep blowing the side panel gasket, think the guy I've been working with ordered a bad batch, going to use a genuine honda gasket this time. When it isn't blowing a gasket it's fast and fun though!

In high school a friend stuck an engine/trans from a Yamaha YZ125 into a tiny little go cart. One ride on that down the street was enough for me. I wasn't sure if the tie-rods were going to snap first or the axle.

Side panel as in the crankcase cover gasket? What is your breather setup? Sounds like a bit too much crankcase pressure.

Great point - we are gonna drill a hole and add a fitting off the gov arm and run 5/16 tube to catch can - thank you for the idea

Switching out the stock fuel tank for a smaller custom cylinder tank to accommodate the pressure release valve. Adding a new foam intake filter that won't fall off if you nudge it like the others I've bought.

Yup! My friend started a little pit bike series in my area and we have more than 30 people now. We race about every 3 weeks when the weather is good. We have about 6 tracks now at various friends houses, several over a mile long. Has to be the best ratio of smiles per dollar I’ve found!

Rides perfectly now, thanks again for the pressure valve idea, it has never ran this fast before

One more mod to decrease the amount of oil going to catch can by dialing in the crankcase pressure.

Looks great! I bet it sounds good too. Have you used GPS to find the top speed?

Is it street legal? How do you get it to the gas station?

I live in an area with lots of golf carts that aren't street legal and a neighborhood that is cool. I only ride on weekends and that gas station is very close to my house.

Scooters under a certain CC are ok in bike lane and my bike doesn't quite fit into that category but at slow speeds, due to to mini stature nobody knows how fast it is and I don't go out of my way to
drive in traffic - really just on weekends. I also have a headlight and blinker not pictured here for added safety, nobody seems to mind as long as I'm not riding around like a hooligan.
