It started out ok but then it fizzles out like crazy. How much can ppl talk about zombies? Goes on and on and on, esp w all these 'superhero' school kids. No wonder I couldn't finish this or even The Walking Dead.

You guys might be interested in Black Summer on Netflix. Yes, it's a zombie themed series but a different kind of vibe. I think I remember Sedan_Clan agreed.

It felt more real and gritty if you can believe that. Definitely worth checking out. I enjoyed it.

Americans in particular seemed to be obsessed with some type of Apocalypse happening. I have my theories why, but I don't want to derail the thread.

It was shit after 15 minutes, really was. Stock standard shocked korean acting face but with blood.

Walking Dead was excellent for several seasons, then the story ran it's course and turned into "who are the new bad guys". It also helped that I could watch Maggie peel potatoes all day.

Black Summer was goodish, it benefitted from not being too long i'll give it that.

I want to hear this, especially considering a lot of these apocalypse films are foreign films. Why are those foreign entities obsessed with making them?!?!

Dude lol. Never change haha. I lasted more than halfway but it got tiring and ofc the whole 'how it started' was just ridiculous. Sure, TWD was more quality but it still meanders on. I can't even remember where I left off.

After a while, many zombie stuff starts getting goofy/tiresome, like that quirky one I tried watching, Day of the Dead. I prefer they keep it short in movie format, leaves it more 'realistic' on the whole.

Maggie, the one who hooked up w the Korean guy? I guess she's alright but she's no Kim from BCS, but I'd have to fight that guy cuz he has her held captive in his mancave

Yeah I only happened to find it while perusing the Netflix menu one day and decided to check out the trailer. That's all it took for me.

As for Maggie? Meh. I don't see that but whatever floats your boat I guess. Lol.

Well, you're talking about Maggie, not Lauren, the actual actress. She never looked like that in the show. So, no, I wouldn't go ga-ga over watching *Maggie* peel potatoes, whereas otoh I wouldn't mind Kim checking out my briefs

Since we're on the subject of hot chicks and TV series. I remembered "24" from a couple of decades ago, at least the original season or two.

I dunno, she's Canadian right?

I liked their take on the zombie genre. I liked that the zombies were fast and fuck instead of these slow lumbering TWD types. Also liked that they had a few moments where you saw the world through their eyes.

Yes, that's right! They were fast AF which surprised me when I began watching it. It added another element of fear. You can't help but think with those slow zombies like in TWD, you could easily run away, if not bash their heads in.

Yup, I like that more since it creates more tension since they move faster than a snail.

However, I'm surprised since 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead came out way before that in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Didn't you see those before this series?
