So remember that if you ever end up in an ICU that's near/at capacity.
Wait, masks keep you from catching Covid? I know the CDC says they slow the spread of large droplets and could keep people from spreading it but I haven't seen any where that says wearing one keeps you from catching it.

If you wear one and someone who has it wears one then the virus must get around two rather than one barrier. Add some distance and it's even more difficult.

Do you have anything from the CDC, WHO, or other medical organization that says that? Everything I have seen states that masks are worn only to slow the spread through large droplets from asymptomatic carriers. I understand the thought but most non n95 masks wont stop the spread through aerosol.

I didn't hear the words "face diaper" anywhere in clip, I think we can rule out NickyC for this one.

But where do we go from here? Do we blame the lack of mask or the white cop?

Nothing stops the spread other than living in a plastic bubble. Everything else is a percentage. I'm sure there are situations where when wearing a mask alone someone gets infected but no entity is ever going to lay out the percentages for EVERY situation a person could possibly encounter. This is why the govt uses words like "slow the spread".

I wasn't asking for that, I just didn't know if a health entity had released something that said wearing a mask lowers your risk of contracting Covid. I have also seen a lot of memes stating what you said about ending up at a hospital or on a respirator but wearing a mask yourself really doesn't do anything to prevent you from being hospitalized or put on a respirator. It seems wearing a mask only prevents you from spreading large droplets which could spread covid if you have it.

Valid point.

Well, considering he was in a store that appears to have a face covering rule, (not certain what city or if they had a mandatory mask when out rule) I'm almost certain they are allowed to remove him from said store. The force seems a bit excessive for a piece of cloth, but someone needs to enforce it or it wouldn't be a rule.

MASK IT!

Correct

We get some looks around the neighborhood from science deniers, but it's small price to pay.

n95 or better will keep you from getting it most likely. Cloth masks require everybody to wear one.

There, now you have read it and can go back to pretending you haven't.

I was never arguing the validity of making the argument that they could slow the spread, sneezing into a handkerchief would the same effect. But there are a lot of memes and comments that imply a mask made out of a t shirt would keep you from getting sick. That's all I am saying. Now a fabric mask smeared with a thick layer of peanut butter might help, but breathing will be tough.

There are and it would.

The point of view that so many have about masks is very self-centric completely missing the point that if everybody wore them in all situations where they should be worn things might look considerably different.

Knowing this was going to be an issue, we went to a paint supply store and stocked up on n95 respirators. I wear a cloth mask for general outside stuff where people are closer than 6' so I don't get them sick and wear my n95 under my cloth mask when going inside stores and other places with circulating air.

At my office I wear a cloth mask in common areas and my n95 in areas that have more people or I don't know the people in that area.

I work far out in the middle of nowhere so it is easy to socially distance most of the time and I work from home every other week.

Fill your mask with candy while sitting through boring meetings to spice things up.

They just mandated masks everywhere in my state, I can't wait for someone to try to put hands on me for not wearing one.
