Definitely getting Bilstien B6. Q: Dinan Performance / H&R Sport / Eibach Pro

Hi All,

My first post. So apologies if I ask something toooo basic. I have an 05-Comp and I want to replace the Orig shocks and springs.

I am definitely wanting the Bilstein B6s since I have read and hear amazing things about them (unless someone talks me out of it).

The dilemma I have is which springs should I buy ?
1. H&R Sport Springs (Lowers front by 1.2", rear by 0.5)
2. Dinan Performance (Lowers front by 5/8", rear 0.25")
3. Eibach Pro (Lowers front by 0.9", rear by 0.6")

My biggest criteria of selection is:
- Should not crash on potholes / bumps
- Should not rub
- Get better body control as I feel a good amount of lean in my front end.

Thank you for your help guys. Much appreciated.

Thoughts?

I have modified b6s, They're amazing BUT they're not great if you go too low. They're best at about 14.5"/14" ride height (I'm more typical 13.5/13" - I did it though modifications to the plate assembly).

Soooo, I would pair whatever you choose with nice street camber plates that will give more travel so that you can go lower than stock 14.5"/14 with a set of lowering springs. You don't have to, but you'll get more travel.

That said....

H&R set is pretty bad. Rear is good but front is too low and the rate is too low for the drop, batch match.

Dinans are about perfect, but small drop.

Eibachs are my favorite. I always wish the rear drop was a bit more, so I pull the bottom rubber pad (the top pad is still providing cushion for NVH contorl) to gain another 1/4".

Any change to ride quality with b6 and Eibach?

Yes, the b6s are firm, some even say harsher. I find that to be true at slower speeds, more city type driving where koni yellows (twin tube) might be better. The B6s are great at speed and handling bigger changes in the road. Much more confidence inspiring.

TBone, what is your recommendation for highways with bone jarring speed bump type pavement joints?

I see you are in CA which I assume has perfect roads compared to the 3rd world country like roads here in NY.
