I know it's legal but c'mon now.

I'm more interested in the voodoo magic that resulted in not a single bug being smashed on the windshield.

The way it pours on speed from 200-350kph is just mind bending.

Best I've ever done is pegged the rev limited in 6th gear on a friends Yamaha R1.

Amazing.

I have driven at half that speed on the Autobahn and the speed differential vs slower cars is nerve wracking.

Lane discipline takes on new meaning at those speeds.

As impressive as it is, I don't get the thrill in going straight even at 'hypersonic' speeds. As for lane discipline, yup, all it takes is for someone to just step out, I really doubt the driver can do anything, and that's why he's trying to mitigate by straddling lanes, still, it's an accident waiting to happen.

I think you have to put on new tires after this speed, I remember seeing something about that from Bugatti.

Must be some incredible tunnel vision to see what's going on a mile or two down the road to even begin reacting.

Maybe why there was a copilot. Similar to Canonballers.

My personal record is 333kph on german Autobahn. No, I didn't felt „tunnel visioned". Not sure, if plus 70kph would have changed that.

I think, I heard that one before. A set of tyres costs about 30k.
But why can Porsche Turbo S and others run 350+ kph all day long? I don't get it.

Pretty interesting engineering going on with those wheels...

"At top speed, the tires are fighting against 5,442 Gs of force, and they can only withstand this for 15 minutes before failing."

They're using the Michelin PAX system where they actually glue the rubber to the wheel. It has a poly and rubber insert to keep shape and absorb the road.

Also they probably ran out of fuel at the end of the video.

It was the Veyron that had the very special and expensive PAX tyres, the Chiron uses "just" bespoke Sport Cup 2s.

Was driving behind a Chiron yesterday. My mind was blown, driving by a $3.2+ million car, of which only 500 examples will ever exist.

I've seen a few of them now, primarily in Orange County.

OT but don't you guys think those Bugattis are just ugly? I think lots of ppl are just brainwashed into thinking they are 'all that' because they are/were the fastest car of the world. Never liked them ever since the Veyron, just an oversized jellybean monstrosity that can only go fast in a straight-line, basically an over-glorified dragster lol.
